Rental Conditions

Details on the minimum age and required minimum years since drivers’ license issuance for each vehicle class is provided in the table below. Both the rental customer and any additional driver(s) must meet these requirements. The driver’s license must have the Republic of Türkiye ID number on it. No rental can be performed with driver's licenses combined with newly issued IDs. You must have your driver's license with you. You can rent with a foreign driver’s license and passport You can rent a car with a driver’s license and passport that have been issued in the Latin alphabet. If your driver’s license and passport do not use the Latin alphabet, you must have them translated by a certified translator, and the original translated documents should be provided to our office. Additionally, the country entry customs stamp in your passport must be dated within the last 6 months.

• Turkish driver’s licenses issued before January 1, 2016, will be considered invalid as of October 31, 2025, in accordance with official regulations. After this date, vehicle rentals cannot be processed with expired or invalid licenses. To avoid any issues during the rental process, a valid and new-type Turkish driver’s license must be presented.
• For car rentals made at the Cyprus Ercan Airport office, drivers must be at least 25 years old.

*It will be applied in the event that explicit consent is provided.

Our cars can be rented for at least 24 hours per day and 23 days per month.

In case of possible delays:

• in case of delay over 2 hours, 1/3 of the car rental price valid on that date
• in case of delay over 3 hours, 2/3 of the car rental price valid on that date
• in case of delay of and over 4 hours, one day rental price valid on that date shall be added to your contract and collected from your credit card.
• If your car pick-up or drop-off time coincides with the office closing time, you must pick up or drop off the car at that specific time. The option for a delay of up to 2 hours shall not apply to rentals with a pick-up or drop-off scheduled at the office’s closing time.

Please return the vehicle with the fuel level you have picked it up. In case the car is dropped off with less fuel than when it was picked up, a service fee of 40% of the missing fuel price shall be added to the missing fuel price and collected.

Drop-off to the Office:

If you want to drop off your car to a different office than the one you rented it from, there will be a “One Way” fee charged.

The One Way fee is also applicable when you drop off a car to an office within the same city that is different from the one where you initially picked up the car.

Home Pick-up and Home Drop-off:

Our home pick-up and drop-off service shall be subject to change based on the availability of our offices. For further information, please feel free to reach out to the office from which you intend to rent.

ASSURANCES

• Minor Damage Assurance: This is an assurance offering repair coverage for solo driver damages, including VAT, up to TL 10,000 upon the rental customer’s declaration.
• Super Minor Damage Assurance: This is an assurance offering repair coverage for solo driver damages, including VAT, up to TL 12,000 upon the rental customer’s declaration.
• Super Minor Damage Plus Assurance: This is an assurance offering repair coverage for solo driver damages, including VAT, up to TL 15,000 upon the rental customer’s declaration.
• Maximum Assurance Package: Minor Damage Assurance is an assurance package encompassing Personal Accident Insurance, Third Party Liability Insurance and LCFA Insurance.
• Super Maximum Assurance Package: Super Minor Damage Assurance is an assurance package encompassing Personal Accident Insurance, Third Party Liability Insurance and LCFA Insurance.
• Super Maximum Assurance Plus Package: Super Minor Damage Plus Assurance is an assurance package encompassing Personal Accident Insurance, Third Party Liability Insurance and LCFA Insurance.
• Third Party Liability Insurance:  In addition to the mandatory financial liability (traffic) insurance, this assurance also extends coverage for damages to third parties within predefined limits.
• Personal Accident Insurance: It provides coverage for both the driver and car occupants within the specified insurance limits.
• LCFA: It is the assurance offered for tires, windshield, headlight and mirror damages. It is limited to 1 part.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS

The additional products and services available for purchase alongside your car rental include the following. At the booking stage, you have the flexibility to select from various additional product and service options by reviewing their fees and coverage limits. For further details, feel free to reach out to our booking center or visit our rental offices.

• Child Seat and Booster Seat: In addition to the car you rent, you also have the option to rent a child seat, subject to availability at our office.
• Home Pick-Up and Drop-Off (Information must be obtained from the rental office)
• Young Driver: If the age and minimum years since driver’s license issuance requirements outlined in the car class specifications are not met, it is mandatory to purchase this option.
• Additional Driver: The car you rent is restricted to a maximum of 5 individuals as specified in the contract and delivery form. If you intend to include additional drivers in your contract, you must purchase this option.
• Additional Mileage Packages: In addition to the mileage limits of the car class specifications you will rent, extra mileage packages can be purchased to increase the mileage limit.

Traffic fines, including those for using incorrect toll booths on bridges and highways, as well as additional service fees resulting from traffic rule violations, shall be charged to the credit card of the contract holder (the rental customer named in the contract).

RENTAL AGREEMENT – GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Scope and Amendments
1.1. In cases where the rental period, vehicle group, or pick-up and drop-off location is changed, the rental fee and other charges shall be recalculated by the LESSOR based on the prices applicable on the date the change request is made.
1.2. For reservation cancellations, the cancellation rules valid on the reservation date and published on the website shall apply.

2. Commencement of Rental Services
2.1. Rental services requested by the LESSEE shall commence when the LESSEE collects the requested vehicle from the LESSOR’s relevant branch by signing the Vehicle Delivery Form.
2.2. At the time of signing the Vehicle Delivery Form, current information shall be recorded therein.

3. Use and Care of the Vehicle
3.1. The LESSEE undertakes to:
  a) Comply with the manufacturer’s vehicle user manual,
  b) Exercise due care and attention in the use of the vehicle,
  c) Ensure the vehicle is kept in good condition.
3.2. The LESSEE agrees and undertakes to use the vehicle within the specified country borders, in accordance with the legal provisions of the country in which it is used.

4. Prohibited Uses
The LESSEE shall not use the vehicle in any of the following ways. Violation of this clause shall render the LESSEE liable for all penalties, expenses, and damages:
4.1. Transporting items prohibited by customs or other laws,
4.2. In illegal activities,
4.3. For towing or pushing any vehicle/object,
4.4. For commercial transportation of passengers or goods,
4.5. For carrying personal loads/goods exceeding the vehicle’s capacity or likely to damage it,
4.6. While under the influence of drugs or alcohol, without a valid driver’s license, or by persons not listed as a driver or additional driver in the delivery form,
4.7. For participation in, or preparation for, competitions, rallies, races, or speed trials,
4.8. In unsuitable terrain (e.g., sand, mountainous terrain, riverbeds, swamps) or conditions not compatible with the vehicle’s structure,
4.9. In abnormal or unsafe road conditions,
4.10. Off-road or during transport by land/sea/air/river vehicles, except for licensed ferries/trains the vehicle can board under its own power,
4.11. For animal transportation,
4.12. In cases of damage caused by contact with cigarettes or similar items.

5. Drivers
5.1. The vehicle may only be driven by the driver(s) and/or additional driver(s) meeting the license and age requirements for the vehicle group as specified in the Vehicle Delivery Form.
5.2. The LESSEE is responsible for ensuring all listed additional drivers comply fully with these terms and conditions.

6. Fees and Expenses
6.1. All fuel, parking, toll, bridge, and traffic fines shall be borne by the LESSEE.
6.2. The LESSEE shall comply with the mileage limit stated in the delivery form. Exceeding the limit shall incur the excess mileage fee specified therein.
6.3. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when delivered. Any shortage shall be charged at current pump prices plus a service fee and applicable VAT.

7. Obligations in Case of Accident
In the event of an accident, the LESSEE and additional drivers must:
7.1. Immediately notify the LESSOR via the Roadside Assistance Line (0850 222 5 478),
7.2. Without moving the vehicle, obtain an accident/damage/theft/loss report and alcohol test from the nearest Police or Gendarmerie,
7.3. Take photographs of the accident scene,
7.4. Record names and addresses of all parties and witnesses,
7.5. Not admit liability without determination of fault,
7.6. In two-party accidents, obtain copies of the other party’s driver’s license, registration, and insurance policy (or relevant details if copies are not possible),
7.7. Not abandon the vehicle without adequate security measures,
7.8. Submit all reports to the LESSOR within 72 hours of the accident,
7.9. Immediately inform authorities in the event of injury, death, or significant damage.

8. Transfer and Use Restrictions
8.1. The LESSEE may not assign this agreement or allow third parties to use the vehicle without the LESSOR’s written consent.
8.2. The vehicle may not be offered as collateral, leased, subjected to lien, or taken abroad without written consent from the LESSOR.

Irrespective of the rental period outlined in the contract, the total mileage covered shall be restricted to the monthly mileage limit corresponding to the car class in question. You can extend the mileage limit by purchasing extra mileage packages from the “Additional Products” section when booking. You cannot buy additional mileage packages once the rental period has begun. If the daily mileage limit exceeds the monthly mileage limit, an additional fee shall be charged based on the overage fees outlined in the table below.

In addition to the car rental fee, assurance package, and additional product and service fees, a security deposit shall be collected in advance from a single credit card belonging to the rental customer at the start of the rental period.

The credit card shall be charged or refunded based on any fee adjustments that may arise at the conclusion of the rental period. The rental customer must be physically present at our office, and we do not accept additional drivers or credit cards belonging to different individuals. Debit cards and virtual cards shall not be accepted as valid payment methods.

Deposit Fee:

Along with the car rental fee, deposit amounts, ranging from TL 3,000 to TL 6,000 depending on the car class, shall be collected upfront from the rental customer’s personal credit card. These collected deposit amounts shall be fully refunded within 7 business days at the latest if the car is dropped off under the conditions it was picked up by you.

Security

For your security, 3D Secure is used for your payments. To enhance your shopping security, www.garenta.com employs an SSL security certificate.

The card information you have provided to us will be stored in our Company's systems and may be processed for the purpose of fulfilling your automatic invoice payment instructions, as well as for the collection of debts such as possible HGS, OGS, and traffic fines. Unless you request deletion, your credit card information may be retained for a period of 6 months starting from the termination of the membership agreement. Information regarding the processing of your personal data can be found in the Customer Privacy Notice.

"Pay Now" and "Pay Later" Preferential Bookings:
In your "Pay Now" and "Pay Later" preferential bookings, you can change the car class, drop-off office, booking date, add and remove additional products and assurance packages, as well as changing the pick-up office. Some changes may result in price differences. In case of a change of pick-up office, the existing booking must be canceled and a new booking must be made. For your new booking, you may be provided with a new price compared to the existing price. 

Early Drop-Off:
If the car is dropped off before the booking dates after the beginning of the rental, an early drop-off penalty shall apply. The rental price shall be recalculated depending on the number of days the car will be used. For the unused day, the penalty fee calculated with the determined rate shall be charged to the user and the remaining amount shall be refunded. 

Extension:
Upon a request to rent the car for a longer period than the booking dates following the beginning of the rental period, the additional fee that will occur after the price is recalculated by the system shall be charged to the user's credit card at the beginning of the rental.

No-Show Policy:
If a car is not picked up at the scheduled time indicated in the booking, it will be marked as a no-show after a 2-hour period. During the additional 2 hours, your booking shall remain in no show status and no car class can be guaranteed. Your booking shall be canceled after a total of 4 hours.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Your booking can be canceled up to 1 hour before the booking time and you shall not be charged anything in such a case. 
If you decide to cancel your booking under conditions other than those mentioned above, a cancellation fee of 30% of the total reservation amount will be charged.

• -All rental fees shall be charged to the rental customer's personal credit card. Debit cards and virtual cards shall not be accepted as valid payment methods.
• -Foreign citizens who will rent a car must hold an International Driver's License.
• -In the event of any damage, you must notify the emergency hotline and inform the Traffic Police or Traffic Gendarmerie teams without moving your vehicle from the accident scene and obtain a "Police Report along with an Intoxication Test Report" in order for your insurance to be valid. In traffic accidents causing material damages where more than one car is involved in the accident, a "Material Damage Accident Report" may also be issued if the parties agree on the form of the accident.
• -In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, during car rentals, in the case of one-sided or mutual traffic accidents or damage occurring while the vehicle is parked, it is mandatory to file a police report at the scene for insurance procedures to be carried out. If you need assistance in case of damage, we recommend contacting our branch.
• -In the event of a theft, the rental customer must immediately contact law enforcement officers and obtain a “Theft Report”. The car key and license must be returned to us along with the obtained report.
• -If you encounter an accident, theft, breakdown, flat tire, or face any other emergency situation, our “Emergency Assistance” hotline is available 24/7 throughout Türkiye. You can reach us at 0850 222 5 478.
• -Please be aware that none of our insurance policies is applicable beyond the borders of Türkiye, and it is prohibited to take our cars outside the country. Please review your contract.
• -Your car rental booking has been confirmed regarding the car class and no brand and/or model guarantee shall be provided.
• -Upon receiving the car in good and pristine condition, the rental customer shall accept full responsibility for any and all damages and losses, encompassing mechanical and electrical issues and extending to instances of misuse, carelessness, negligence, and similar causes. This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from improper gear shifting leading to transmission failure, harm caused by continuing to operate the vehicle despite warning lights, damage resulting from contact with the car’s undercarriage, as well as harm to components like tires and rims, and any damages or malfunctions related to fuel usage, among others. All damages and losses, whether mechanical or electrical, shall not be covered by the insurance policies and assurances.
• -Winter tires shall be provided as an additional product and service and come with an associated cost. Winter tire availability shall be subject to regional variations and office stock limitations. You must get in touch with the office where you plan to rent the car to confirm the availability of winter tires.
• -As per the Road Transport Regulation, this shall be valid for shipments by vehicles registered as pickup trucks in the N1 and N1G vehicle class and where the goods transported are not commercial. Additional documents may be requested from the driver prior to the rental.
• -To pick up your car following the confirmation of your booking for all car classes, your financial assessment* must align with Garenta’s rental criteria. Your total loan limit, debt details, credit cards, overdraft accounts, and similar financial products from all banks, as well as the current and past payment history of these credit products, can also be assessed, regardless of your Findeks score. In order to secure the rental transaction, an appropriate security fee, deposit and/or guarantees may be requested. However, if you prefer a financial assessment to be carried out through a Findeks report and provide your explicit consent, your Findeks data will be evaluated and vehicle options may be offered to you without requiring a security fee or guarantee. If you do not provide explicit consent, standard rental conditions will apply.
